Scene at the White House in the early hours of May 2 after President Barack Obama announced Osama bin Laden had been killed.

People started to gather at the White House right after the news first spread. Lafayette Park and the surrounding streets were filled with people heading to join the celebration even at 2 in the morning. About 450 of them had checked in on Foursquare when I checked around 1 a.m.
Do people just happen to have a superhero costume with a U.S. flag print at home? Baffles me.
